About him
Hello! I'm a tall, intelligent bloke, with a well-developed sense of fun and humour, but also have a very thoughtful, intellectual side - but I'm quite outdoors-y and very active physically too (I run a lot and really enjoy it).
I also like going out, eating out, travelling, books, cinema. Among the things I value in other people are humour, open-mindedness, independence, intelligence, a sense of fun :-)
I would say I have a healthily young outlook on life, and generally seem to be thought of as looking a lot younger than I am. I've noticed that some people here attach high importance to the following, so here goes: - yes, I have hair, yes it's now getting greyer; no, there is no middle-age paunch - I'm still slim and athletic. Blessed with the "young gene"? I am well educated, have a good job -fortunate enough be working right through this lockdown thing, with a rewarding job. Own car, house, all that stuff.
I have a good and interesting job - I'm a scientist and it's in what I regard as a very worthwhile field which many people are interested in generally; it does keep me pretty busy but I'm not one of these people whose life is consumed by their job.
I've added a new recent photo (August 2023) - that's the scruffiest pic (after a low key night out to the pub). The others are a couple of years old I confess.

About his ideal match
I would like to meet someone who is strong and independent, but understands that those traits are not incompatible with a great, loving partnership (in fact I think they make the best partnerships). I can be a very chatty person at times and so I would like to meet someone with plenty of good conversation, but equally at other times, just chilling is nice.
While we are all guilty of having preconceptions about things at times, I do dislike snobbery and prejudice and those who are too quick to judge other people. I like intelligent people but am certainly no snob when it comes to education. My ideal would be a tactile person who likes getting out into the great outdoors sometimes; someone who is equally happy going out for a drink and letting their hair down, and a nice night in. I am not a religious person, but that doesn't mean I don't rule out getting together with someone who is.
