About her
My daughter and friends (where are they when you need a recommendation?) would testify that I am loving, kind, and generous. And passionate about the people that I care deeply about. I am equally happy at home, or walking or hiking in the wilderness, out on the town, or exploring museums and galleries. I can be found curled up on a couch with a book and a cup of tea, or hanging out with friends, or trekking. I love to cook, especially when there's company in the kitchen, but baking is my thing. Major food group, that.
UK citizen, raised on a small island... I've had easy access to, and love, the hills, the sea, the 'bush', and urban life. After books, I love movies. In this latter area I am completely without discernment. I often enjoy really terrible movies. Snakes On A Plane, anyone? I am addicted to reading, but working on it. By reading more. I love being quiet (the couch, a book or a screen, a hot cup of tea, solo... or with company), and also love laughter, conversation, and music. I love to dance, adore dogs, cats are excellent too. I've spent a lot of time travelling in the last few years; it would be nice to have a companion. I'm a retired scientist, and have also worked in IT support and training. Now I am involved now in a Community group and with a reforestation NGO.
My outlook veers from positive (a good meal, a warm loaf, chocolate, art, good company, a book) to optimistic & happy (my daughter, my friends, their children, festivals, music, art, nature), to despondent (climate change, politicians). I am loving, tactile, a committed hugger, a listener, loyal, supportive, curious, analytical, ethical, passionate... and a more or less reliable provider of baked goods.
I'd love a friend and travelling partner to sometimes explore far flung places before the sea level rises, or to walk familiar ground together. More than that, a true life's partner and lover.
