About him
I've had an interesting life, and a job I loved - every day a different challenge, with sailing training stints every year in the Western Isles in lieu of holidays, all very exciting but somehow managing to overlook "normal" things like marriage and kids.
I suppose I thought I'd get around to it all eventually, but eventually has arrived and I'm still single, with a great love of theatre (watching and doing), cooking and eating out, going on long walks with a welcoming pub and sparkling conversation at the end of them....and no-one to do it all with, unless you'd like to disagree..!
Deep down I'm a very loving, loyal and highly tactile bloke with no-one to put his arms around and care for... are you a good fit for the space between my arms and chest?
I've found that one of life's great satisfactions is being able to "fix" a wide variety of things. Restoring entropy, finding out how things work, putting life back into broken toys, clocks and radios gives me a real "rosy glow" feeling. I've even been known to put up shelves...
I still love the Western Isles but lately discovered that there is interesting stuff in the opposite direction, in France, Italy and Turkey - enjoy putting rather basic language skills to the test in the Med rather than the Atlantic! (I did have a go at Gaelic but I didn't get very far!). Rome is a favourite - history, sunshine and wonderful food, with Venice a close runner-up, but I'd like to explore Tuscany and Campania as well - with the right companion, of course!
