A contrarian with a sense of humor, lots of curiosity, and an optimistic heart. While I love good conversation that ranges every which way, I also need time to recharge my social batteries.
Take this random list of enthusiasms for what it's worth: Travel (Turkey, Peru, and Portugal last year; India this year), The Three Principles, resistance training, dogs (just lost my Golden :-(), hiking, investing, electric cars and bikes, carnivory, opera and EDM and BeeGees, Klee and Matisse and O'Keeffe, Eliot and Helprin and Child. Plus whatever interests you.
I doubt that algorithms can predict friendship, much less love; 'vive la difference' can be a good thing, too, as long as there's mutual respect and fascination.
People think I'm a good 10 years younger than my chronological age, and when I take a "real age" test of health and attitude, I'm 20 years younger. It saddens me when I see my peers too quickly resign themselves to decline.
As I taper off my career as a freelance business writer, I'm transitioning to more travel and itch-scratching. A book may be in my future. I just completed a sketching class so that I can record my travels without an iPhone.
I belong to a couple of local discussion groups, and titles of all sorts are stacked around my place. I lean somewhat to the right politically and temperamentally, which sometimes makes things hard in Austin!
