About him
Divorced engineer with 2 children (boy 22, graduate eng, girl 20, 3rd year eng student). I am a social liberal, somewhat politically active. I believe we have a responsibility to those less fortunate; especially if there have been historical inequities that put them at such a disadvantage. My pet peeve is people claiming faith based or fringe beliefs as science (such as "intelligence design", climate change isn't "proved", morality only comes from "god", etc).
I am an atheist with some, but not much tolerance with those who believe in the "flying spaghetti monster" or other god like nonsense. The more educated or public a person is, and the more the insistence I take them seriously, the less tolerance I show.
I enjoy a night out on Broadway, dinner with live music, and trips to museums and monuments. A night at home watching TV or a movie, a home cooked meal (I am a good cook), a glass of wine along with stimulating conversation, when shared with someone special is one of my favorite activities.
I do have a fault in I like TV, especially mind numbing sit-coms and smalchy dramas. I also like documentaries, biographies, and science shows as long as they are real science, based on investigations and facts, and nor on folk tales and superstition.
I love to travel and make 10 to 20 trips per year for pleasure and business. My travel has recently been to Europe, Middle East, along with several areas in the USA. When I travel for pleasure I like to get off the beaten path, slow down, smell the roses and see the sites. Most of my recent travel has been with my children but they are growing up and don't want to spend as much time with Dad. I am looking for a life / travel companion to share our adventures.

My ideal match would be formal or self educated, a believer in science and would not believe in faith. She must be a liberal, free thinker. If you think NPR is too conservative and religiously driven, you may be ideal.
