About him
Born in rural Oxfordshire, transplanted to the North West as a child, now enjoy the Ribble Valley, Lakes, Dales etc and all they have to offer, also enjoy living a healthy lifestyle, though love eating out occasionally, and am partial to a nice wine or beer, I'm a reasonably good cook, anything from a light lunch to Christmas dinner, and love to share cooking and wine. A typical Sunday would be a walk with the pup, breakfast, coffee and radio 4, then whatever we fancy doing,
After a military career, I am now in management for an independent utilities company, an enjoyable role in which I thrive on problem solving and providing customer satisfaction, though may consider retirement in the next few years,
I enjoy travel, everything from long haul to a short hop to the continent, Spain is a fave for some sun, also recently discovered the benefit of adults only hotels, most recently Amsterdam for the world rowing championships.
I love being outdoors and live in a rural area with walks on farmland nearby, Mowgli, my working Cocker and I often walk before work and in the evening.
For entertainment, I like stand up comedy, Stuart Lee, the Fringe etd, and live music, the last concert was Madness, before that Jools Holland, though have a broad taste, and would like to see a full orchestra and Metallica!
I'm a keen sportsman and keep fit, a former Army Rugby player, Runner and Triathlete, I now enjoy the Gym, Rowing, hiking etc, though recently have enjoyed spectatining, Rowing, Rugby, Tennis, 20/20 cricket, Athletics, Equestrian etc, though not a couch potato, like to watch live where possible, I'm not devoted fan and maybe fit an event in a few times a year, maybe cricket on the radio occasionally.
I am looking for the start of a long term meaningful relationship with a like minded partner.
I should add I am young for my years in many respects and find I have more in common with younger people, or the young at heart.

My ideal match will be easy going and driven in the right measures and able to relax and enjoy free time, a woman who likes to stay in shape, possibly sporty, who enjoys some of my interests and has her own we can share,
She would understand the value of a relationship being a partnership and needing equal contributions and support from each other,
