About him
Personality wise I’m not very good at being bored. Give me a blank canvas, a piece of music, an interesting conversation or the keys to something with a slightly silly engine and I’m perfectly happy. Life’s too short to spend it watching the clock.
I’m easy-going, open-minded and generally rather amiable. I like people, I like laughing and I’m usually happiest when there’s good company and a bit of banter involved. I don’t tend to brag about my accomplishments either — partly because I’m modest, and partly because I’d much rather let someone discover the interesting bits for themselves.
I’m also a generous sort. If I see someone who’s less fortunate than me, I’m inclined to help if I can. Beneath all the nuts, bolts and scientific nonsense, there’s actually a reasonably soft and empathetic human being lurking around somewhere.
Yes, I’m a scientist. A proper nuts-and-bolts, evidence-based, occasionally wearing-a-lab-coat sort of scientist. But don’t let that fool you into thinking I’m entirely sensible. I also paint, write songs and have an enthusiasm for fast cars, so clearly the scientific method has its limitations.
I’ve been told I’m good company.
I’m looking for someone who enjoys a good conversation, a good laugh and a little spontaneity. Someone who can appreciate a bit of wit, isn’t frightened by curiosity, and might occasionally say, “Go on then… why not?”
So, if you like someone with an inquisitive mind, a creative streak, a generous heart and just enough mischief to keep things interesting, we might get along rather well.
And if we don’t…
Well, at least we’ll have conducted an interesting experiment.
