About him
I’m a widower after fifty years of marriage. Life has had its share of weight, but I’m still someone who values kindness, good conversation, and a bit of creativity. I’d like to find someone to share the quieter moments with — and maybe a few smiles along the way.
I spent 30 years as an NHS paramedic, which taught me a lot about people, life, and what really matters.
For years, I walked my border terrier every day — I loved the rhythm of it, and the easy chats with people we met. I think life is at its best when it’s shared… even the simplest moments feel richer with someone beside you.
I’m more “feet up by an open fire” than marathon runner. I enjoy reading (often with a copy of Ariel by Sylvia Plath close by), listening to jazz in the evenings, and sketching or writing rather than watching television.
I like caf駸, good coffee, and unhurried conversation — the kind where time slips by without noticing. My tastes are a little eclectic: old radio comedies, classic TV like The Twilight Zone, late-night broadcasts, and the occasional retro computer game (I wrote one in the 1980s that’s somehow still being played… which feels like a small miracle).
I’m not a party person, don’t follow sport, and would always choose a relaxed dinner and good company over a noisy crowd. I do enjoy cooking — especially if there’s someone to share it with (and I make a decent meal, I’m told).
I’d love to meet someone warm, genuine, and emotionally aware — someone who enjoys conversation, laughter, and life’s quieter pleasures… and who might fancy joining me for coffee, a walk, or seeing where something gentle could grow.
