What is there to say about myself?
Relaxed, easy going (though principled), fairly competent and a bit of a nerd but contrary to the stereotype I enjoy the outdoors!
I’ve always enjoyed keeping fit, exercising every day is now a necessity with an active dog but I also continue to hit the gym a few times each week without fail.
At home, I cook from scratch most days; I’ve spent a large part of my life being the cook of the house and I'm no stranger to a pan, or a spoon.
I’ll read most things though I particularly enjoy books with a historical theme or topic. Academic texts, or fiction I'll consume them all though the geek in me also enjoys a good sci-fi.
I love boardgames with friends, the odd video game and music: rock, folk, blues .. where someone can actually play an instrument!
I'm happy gardening, love wild places, cold wind, don’t mind the rain, I'm not squeamish, am fairly practical, enjoy a long empty beach, a pub or a place with some history to it where I can watch the world and mull some philosophy.
I find the past absolutely fascinating and the possibilities of a bright future as something to wonder at. I try to stay present, though it's not always easy when the mind wanders!
