About her
Live by the sea and love it. Write theatre and book reviews, interview people for interesting roles, host viewings of beautiful properties, charity trustee of a tiny hidden gem, still learning via a University course. I gave up a full time job in a prestigious University in the north of England to move back to Scotland (after 40-odd years south of the border) to ‘pursue passion projects’ - in other words, do what I want, when I want - and my life fulfills that brief now.
I also love theatre, galleries, cinema (mainly indie and definitely not blockbusters), classical concerts and indie gigs, travel, architecture. Friends and family not least. Beauty in all its forms.
Walking the coastal path, swimming, Pilates, yoga and meditation help to counteract my love for cooking and baking. I’m a non-meat-eater, with some sort of seafood allergy. And if you have a dog it might not work - I’m just not that keen. Though dogs seem to like me, so who knows?
I’d love to meet a man who’d like to spend time together and share this wonderful life, but also be happy to spend some time apart - perhaps. Initially at least. So I don’t see distance as a barrier, as long as you’re happy to do a bit of travelling. I’m open to relocating if things work out. We could have a bolt hole by the sea. You might need to be a bit quirky to fit the brief, but I probably am too.
And please don’t let your only photo be of you in sunglasses and/or headgear obscuring what you look like or of you in a group of people, making it hard to know which one you are. And fish? Too much flesh? Another woman? Really? Or is that just me? 🤷🏻♀️

Gutsy enough to speak the truth is probably my top prerequisite. Intelligence, creativity and an open mind are close seconds. If you are gregarious and love having a houseful of friends and/or family you might be near perfect. It would help if you’re not always away up mountains, sailing the seven seas or doing some extreme sport or another. I’m not very moderate and don’t suppose my ideal man will be either and, as I’m expecting you to be living a busy life, it would be wonderful to have enough interests in common to let us enjoy things together where we can. Do you like galleries, but museums not so much? Do you like beautiful hotels and fabulous restaurants? Do you like beach walks, keeping moderately fit, long lunches with friends, daft pub quizzes (but only very occasionally, with best friends and because you’re fun but also competitive?), serious conversations about things that matter, entertaining, theatre, live gigs and the joy of being alive? Do you love your family, crave seeing your kids (if you have any), but don’t live in their pocket? Are you inquisitive and have a childlike wonder at the glory of the world? Do you have strong views about things that matter (did I already say that?), sometimes play devil’s advocate just for the hell of it, but sometimes just don’t give a toss? Do you like hugs and kisses and walking arm in arm or holding hands? Are you unafraid of public shows of affection? Are you spontaneous? Can you handle a woman who would answer yes to all of that and more? Well where the hell have you been all my life?
