i am a 7/8 retired professional, average looking gentleman, seeking a compatible intelligent lady friend , for a long term relationship.

i have many interests .I,often visited galleries and museums stopped until stopped by the covid ;and have been learning drawing, classes ran one night per week until stopped by covid; but some classes are managing to go by zoom,
i started my working life in ceramics and glass R&D ; moved into technical ceramics production and QC; and ended up lecturing .
i enjoy a range of music, i read a lot, sauce bottle labels to books; do photography, still on 35 mm film ,while its available ! i am just into digital, very different technique.
i can cook adequately , black-belt porridge and cordon bleu custard ; but often ate out untill everything was covered in virus ; i enjoyed traveling abroad, exploring new places , meeting new people and mangling their languages but all stopped by covid.
i am low maintenance , easy going , and so i would probably feel most at ease with someone similar , but its the chemistry between people that counts
i tend to unscrew and disassemble things i find and then reassemble them as "better" ? hence my collection of partially working old clocks

About his ideal match
its almost impossible to modularise an ideal woman, ( without using a chain saw , and lots of glue ) but curiosity and an analytical interest in most things would be nice, better spelling than me, tolerance, and especially lots of proximity - cover some of the key factors, proximity is <= 20 miles
some basic deal breakers : these usually arise from the inter personal interactions , however having jinked thru the site and met several very nice ladies ; i can add some general difficulties based on my experiences ;
beards ; copious piercings and metal inserts ( i am somewhat conflicted ,as these really do give enhanced mobile phone reception ) ; very prominent facial tattoos ; an irrational fear of surds;
the anthropomorphisation of a pet / dog / cat / ? into a child substitute.
the belief that ignorance and pretentiousness are virtues ;
an obsession with swimming indicative of preparation for a second career as a street-walker in Venice
the need for any men under consideration to be at least 5 ft 10 1/2 inch in height .........I am simple (5 foot, 7 inches) and I am happy with unsized ladies (but not excessively porous) .
this a science site ? So how do these pretentious pseudo arts ladies think they can communicate meaningfully with techies? c.p snow must be smiling in his grave
