I am now retired - once a biological scientist - later a computer specialist. Wide interests and still following scientific and environmental issues with particular attention to brain and mind and evolution. A reader of paper books, a viewer of theatre and occasional opera, music likes include world music, folk, some jazz (not ultra modern), classical both old and new (Reich yes but Stockhausen no). Seeking someone similarly varied who is not afraid of knowing both more and less than I do.
Appearance: once slim now increasing a little, greying, bearded, reasonably tall (6 feet).

Someone to talk to openly - discuss - argue maybe - able to tolerate a different point of view. Wide interests. Happy to know less in some areas, happy to know more in other areas without either being a source of friction. Able to tolerate friendships from previous life without worry.
I want to be able to discuss a book or a play without being taken as lecturing or feeling I am being lectured to. In other words I am looking for a complementary parity.
Enjoyment of outdoors is important as well. I think of myself as being 'active' even if I have slowed down
