In Her Own Words
About her
I am as I appear to be "the smart girl" a petite brunette with glasses. I love philosophizing about life and reality. I like to say that my life is a series of wacky adventures and that is putting it mildly. I have floated down the Amazon with the Rainforest Alliance, watched a solar eclipse on the Black Sea with Astronomy Magazine, met humanoid robots at MIT, worked at Vogue magazine, and danced goddess dances in Woodstock with the hippies. I have a penchant for the fantastical and mysterious and so love fog and would like to wander the moor. I have run in many different circles from jet setters to academics to groovy eco types. Recently I spent a year being an extra in movies and TV. My career is in book publishing but now my job is going bankrupt making other people's dreams come true so I am poor. But that is not the only reason I am in distress. I need someone who is in it together because that gives their life meaning and purpose (see below) so please no casual you know what or pen pals. I now believe that it is good that I am poor. If someone is really after me, they will do whatever is necessary to get me. I'm not a feminist anymore.
About her ideal match
When I was in New Orleans I joined Krewe du Who (Doctor Who fans) in no small part because I took an instant liking to the founder. I soon discovered that I enjoyed the company of the other men too because they were all rather gallant. The type of men who jump up to volunteer to walk women to their cars because they take joy in it. This is not upbringing but rather a personality type. Naturally these men are all already married. I now call this type "born husbands." In fact the culture of the group was one of marital devotion. I realized this fit with what I had read in the NY Times bestselling book The Male Brain. Men produce a hormone called vasopressin, which induces protective behavior and is how men's brains form emotional bonds. What was a bit alarming in the book, though, was one sentence, which indicated that there is a genetic variation in human men. Some men have the long version of the vasopressin gene, while others have the short version. Obviously these born husbands have the long version of the vasopressin gene. I now find that I perceive a man as more attractive the more protective he is and vice versa. If a man makes a crude comment to me I do not find that flattering and literally see him as less attractive.
I think there most be a lonely middle aged man out there who would be thrilled to have an interesting wife because I can certainly say that about myself along with I look much younger than my age even though I don't work out or wear makeup or do any of those fake trying to look young things. I'm wondering if there is someone out there with the long version of the vasopressin gene who isn't taken yet. In exchange he would receive my undying loyalty.
